Secrets to a Happy Life

   Have you ever wonder what is the secret to have a happy life? Alot of studies have made for this question though I cannot say that this is successfull... to have a happy life is to have JESUS in it... Without HIM I don't think you will be happy in life...

   Just share to you some that could be a little help but still remember that to be in HIM makes alot of difference...

* Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is The ultimate anti-depressant.

* Live with the 3 E's: Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy.

* Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

* Dream more while you are awake.

* Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less foods that Are manufactured in plants.

* Try to make at least 3 people smile each day.

* Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk, and let new And flowing energy into your life.

* Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, issues of the past, Negative thoughts, or things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the positive present moment.

* Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum, but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

* Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

* Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

* Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

* You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

* Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

* Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their Journey is all about.

* Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, and wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion.
Today is special.

* No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

* Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

* What other people think of you is none of your business.

* Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

* However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

* Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

* Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful, or joyful.

* Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

* The best is yet to come.

* No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, and show up.

* Do the right thing.

* Call your mother and father often.

* Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

* Enjoy the ride.

Going Home on time

   An email from a friend which I do find true in one way or another...



   Mr.  Narayana Murthy is undoubtedly one of the most famous persons from Karnataka. He  is known not just for building the biggest IT Empire in India but also for his  simplicity. Almost every important dignitary visits InfoSys campus. He delivered  an interesting speech during an employee session with another IT company in  India. He is incidentally, one of the top 50 influential people of Asia  according to an Asiaweek publication and also the new IT Advisor to the Thailand  Prime Minister. 

   Extract of Mr.  Narayana Murthy's Speech during Mentor Session: 

   I  know people who work 12 hours a day, six days a week, or more. Some people do so  because of a work emergency where the long hours are only temporary. Other  people I know have put in these hours for years. I do not know if they are  working all these hours, but I do know they are in the office this long. Others  put in long office hours because they are addicted to the workplace.   

   Whatever the reason for putting in  overtime, working long hours over the long term is harmful to the person and to  the organization. There are things managers can do to change this for everyone's  benefit. Being in the office long hours, over long periods of time, makes way  for potential errors. 

   My  colleagues who are in the office long hours frequently make mistakes caused by  fatigue. Correcting these mistakes requires their time as well as the time and  energy of others. I have seen people work Tuesday through Friday to correct  mistakes made after 5 PM on Monday. 

   Another problem is that people who  are in the office long hours are not pleasant company. They often complain about  other people (who are not working as hard); they are irritable, or cranky, or  even angry. Other people avoid them. Such behaviour poses problems, where work  goes much better when people work together instead of avoiding one another.   

   As  Managers, there are things we can do to help people leave the office. First and  foremost is to set the example and go home ourselves. I work with a manager who  chides people for working long hours. His words quickly lose their meaning when  he sends these chiding group e-mails with a time-stamp of 2 AM, Sunday.   

   Second is to encourage people to put  some balance in their lives. For instance, here is a guideline I find helpful:  
1) Wake up, eat a good breakfast, and go to work.
2) Work hard and smart  for eight or nine hours.
3) Go home.
4) Read the books/comics, watch a  funny movie, dig in the dirt, play with your kids, etc.
5) Eat well and  sleep well. 

   This is called recreating. Doing  steps 1, 3, 4, and 5 enable step 2. Working regular hours and recreating daily  are simple concepts. They are hard for some of us because that requires  'personal change'. They are possible since we all have the power to choose to do  them. 

   In  considering the issue of overtime, I am reminded of my oldest son. When he was a  toddler, if people were visiting the apartment, he would not fall asleep no  matter how long the visit was, and no matter what time of day it was. He would  fight off sleep until the visitors left. It was as if he was afraid that he  would miss some thing. Once our visitors' left, he would go to sleep. By this  time, however, he was over tired and would scream through half the night with  nightmares. He, my wife, and I, all paid the price for his fear of missing out.   

   Perhaps some people put in such long  hours because they do not want to miss anything when they leave the office. The  trouble with this is that events will never stop happening. That is life! Things  happen 24 hours a day. Allowing for little rest is not ultimately practical. So,  take a nap. Things will happen while you are asleep, but you will have the  energy to catch up when you wake. Hence,

   Escalator modus operandi.... Be aware & Vigilant...

   Got this e-mail from a friend advising me of the latest front of robbers around the city.... most especially on mall crowded areas in Makati... sharing for you infos...


This e-mail came from a victim of an escalator modus operandi


Dear All:


I would like to share with you my horrible and scary experience last Friday night at Glorietta. Maybe, by being aware of this incident, you will be more vigilant as you do your leisure shopping. It was one rare moment on a weekday that we, my daughters and I would have the chance to have a leisure evening together. And a rare occasion that I would go around Glorietta as I am used to the South shopping malls. Anyway, we took the escalator leading to the Rustans store (the Bon Apetit entrance). The same escalator to the bus stop at Ayala Avenue . I was about 5 steps away from my daughters and in front of me were 2 people (a gay and a girl) in white. They were about 5 to 6 steps ahead of me. I noticed that these 2 people were walking backwards and to my mind, how could adults play in the escalator. I only see children doing this. They continued stepping backwards until they were about 2 steps away from me. I noticed that the gay removed his pony tail band from his hair. Then as I reached the top, the gay bent forward trying to pick up something from the floor. I was standing there trying to hold my grip for fear of falling down. All I could say was "Ano ba, Ano ba!" and I felt I was being squashed. I did not know that my daughters were overtaken by another 2 people and they thought that it was rude of them to do this. The next thing they saw was that I was being squashed in front and at the back. They thought that the one in front of them got their shoe stuck. I finally got out and was cursing the two people in front of me for being so ignorant in the use of the escalators. My daughter noticed that my bag was opened and she asked me to check it out. My celfons were there, but my wallet was gone. She immediately ran outside to chase the 2 but they were gone. The other 2 according to my daughter went the side way. I told the security guard by the door leading to Ayala. All he asked was that "Inipit ba kayo"? I said yes. And then he said that it is the modus operandi and if I were to interpret what he said, this is not the first time this happened. I was shocked for a while. I did not feel like looking around anymore and just confined myself inside Rustans. The next day, a construction worker called my house to say that he saw my wallet in a planter box near the bus stop. He saw a receipt with my name and phone number and called hoping he can find the owner of the wallet. I am writing this experience of mine to you guys so that you will be more alert when you go out. This can happen anywhere where they have these escalators. For those who have connection with the Security of Ayala, please tell them to pose some guards at the escalator areas.
