The Wedding Feast
The first day of the 9th month of the year 2005... Oh What I have in here is the devotion that I have today... just sharing you what I got in here...

The foolish will miss heavens wedding feast

Matthew 25:1-13

1"Then the kingdom of heaven shall be compared to ten maidens who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them; 4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. 5 As the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 But at midnight there was a cry, `Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.' 7 Then all those maidens rose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, `Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 9 But the wise replied, `Perhaps there will not be enough for us and for you; go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.' 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. 11 Afterward the other maidens came also, saying, `Lord, lord, open to us.' 12 But he replied, `Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.' 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

When I was not a Christian I know I am missing out on what's most important in life? Being unprepared can lead to a lot of unnecessary trouble and even disastrous consequences! What good is a life-jacket left on shore when the boat is sinking? Jesus
story of ten silly girls seems strange to westerners today. But his audience knew all too well how easily this could happen to them. Wedding customs in ancient Palestine required extra vigilance and preparation for everyone involved. (Some near eastern villages still follow this custom.) The bride and groom did not go away for their honeymoon, but celebrated for a whole week with their family and friends. It was the custom for the groom to come at his discretion and get his bride and bring her to the wedding party. If he came at night lamps were required by necessity. To show up for a night party without a wedding garment and a lamp is like showing up for a play or movie that requires a reservation and a ticket. You just dont get in without the proper pass. Can you imagine the frustration one experiences in traveling abroad and finding out you cant get into some country because you dont have a valid passport or visa.

Jesus warns us that there are consequences for being unprepared. There are certain things you cannot obtain at the last moment. For example, a student cannot prepare for his exam when the day of testing is upon him. A person cannot get the right kind of character or skill required for a task at hand unless he already possesses it. Our eternal welfare depends on our hearing, and many have trained themselves to not hear. We will not be prepared to meet the Lord, face to face, when he calls us on the day of judgment, unless we listen to him today. The Lord invites us to feast at his banquet table. Are you ready?

"Lord, make me vigilant and attentive to your voice that I may heed your call at all times. May I find joy in your presence and delight in doing your will."

Funny Experience
Not much to say for today, but I remembered something that I really can't get outta my head that happened in the evening of last Friday. This made me smile and became so curios about the incident...
I was with my elder sister doing some shopping when I met this little girl roaming around the store.. she was indeed a very smart and naughty girl about 3 or four years old... I was looking for something and walked passed her way to grab the soap that I am looking for... I do not know but all of a sudden I felt something touching my legs... when I turned around I saw this little girl sitting on the floor and enjoyed carressing my legs... I was indeed so surprised and smiled at her and she smiled back at me... I moved away from her off to the counter to pay for the stuff that I got... unknowingly this little girl followed me there and started doing it again... it's kinda embarrasing most especially when her mom started looking and calling her name out on the floor... people around the store is looking at me and smiling back at me... I know I turned red during those hours most especially when this girl cried so loud when her mom took her away from me... I don't know that wearing BLACK Stockings would be an attention stealer for a little girl... by the way I was wearing my office uniform that day and I am wearing a black stockings as always since I love it's color and the way it matches my office uniform... I never thought it would be a very big deal to that little girl... It's so funny since that little girl used to follow me in every where I go inside the shopping store... LOL...

Any ways, that experience made me think about some things like when you wanted it yet even though how hard you work to have it... you can't... we are wishing to have that feelings or the person's presence stayed as much as longer but they can't... nothing is permanent.. nothing stays forever... but only the Lord and His promises.... I know I will be hurt when something was taken from me or even cried as loud as the little in the store yet there is one thing that would comfort me... and I know it will be the Lord... it would be painful but for sure the pain would not stay there forever.. it will be healed in God's own perfect time....

For sure that little girl will learn how to wear those stockings later on... (",)

My Foolish Baggage
In my life I am still carrying so many baggage that hinders me on my straight walk in the Lord... I mean it I am guilty about it... yet still I am praying to the Lord that I may given up everything to God... I got this forwarded email today from a friend that made me realized how's my walk of faith doing lately...

   Let me share....

Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us. Hebrews 12:1
In 1845, the ill-fated Franklin Expedition sailed from Englandto find a passage across the Arctic Ocean. The crew loaded their two sailing ships with a lot of things they didn't need: a 1,200-volume library, fine china, crystal goblets, and sterling silverware for each officer with his initials engraved on the handles.

Amazingly, each ship took only a 12-day supply of coal for their auxiliary steam engines. The ships became trapped in vast frozen plains of ice. After several months, Lord Franklin died. The men decided to trek to safety in small groups, but none of them survived.

One story is especially heartbreaking. Two officers pulled a large sled more than 65 miles across the treacherous ice. When rescuers found their bodies, they discovered that the sled was filled with table silver. Those men contributed to their own demise by carrying what they didn't need. But don't we sometimes do the same? Don't we drag baggage through life that we don't need? Evil thoughts that hinder us. Bad habits that drag us down. Grudges that we won't let go. Let's determine to "lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us" (Hebrews 12:1). Dave Egner
The world has lost its transient lure
Its evil spell I shun;
I've set my course for higher things
Till earth's brief race is run. - Bosch

Keep out of your life anything that would crowd Christ out of your heart.
