"His word was with authority"

Luke 4:31-37

31 And he went down to Caper'na-um, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the Sabbath; 32 and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority. 33 And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon; and he cried out with a loud voice, 34 "Ah! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God." 35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. 36 And they were all amazed and said to one another, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out." 37 And reports of him went out into every place in the surrounding region.

How do you respond to the word of God? Do you hear it with selective submission or with the full assent of faith and obedience? When Jesus taught he spoke with authority. He spoke the word of God as no one had spoken it before. When the Rabbis taught they supported their statements with quotes from other authorities. The prophets spoke with delegated authority -- Thus says the Lord. When Jesus spoke he needed no authorities to back his statements. He was authority incarnate -- the Word of God made flesh. When he spoke, God spoke. When he commanded even the demons obeyed. If demons, the fallen angels, have faith in the Son of God, how much more should we believe the gospel with the full assent of our minds and hearts and entrust our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ? If we approach God's word submissively, with an eagerness to do everything the Lord desires, we are in a much better position to learn what God wants to teach us through his word. Are you eager to be taught by the Lord and to conform your life according to his word?

"Lord, your word is power and life. May I never doubt your saving love and mercy, and the power of your word to bring healing, restoration, and freedom from sin and affliction."

I'm StruGGling
I do not understand what I do.  For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.  I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.  For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.  For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. (Rom 7:15, 18,22,23 NIV)

Prayer:   LORD, the struggle within me feels so intense at times, and I feel so bad when I fail and do what I do not, in my heart, want to do.  I am grateful that You understand and that I am not alone in this struggle.  Help me to surrender my feelings of failure and condemnation to You and trust that, as I confess my failures, feelings, and struggles to You, You do not hold them against me anymore.  Thank You for loving me unconditionally, and for understanding me, even when I do not understand myself.  In Jesus'name, Amen.

Time flies so swiftly and that I haven't noticed that my youngest sister grown up into a beautiful lady... She's been active into her school activities and studies as well... a Psychology student of Arellano University where she is playing an important role in their school governmenment as a "Representative" of the college of Sciences... [deep sigh] she's actually turning 18 this coming October of this year and already a Sophomore... I remembered she is still my little sister who likes to eat "Oishi", noodles, Am as her milk yet the Lord showered her knowledge and wisdom who in turn outbeaten her competitor in the same field because of the grades she got last semester... She is so malambing and indeed she always gave me a kiss whenever she feels like it... I just got this pictures of hers that I have seen in my pc and posted it here on my site... I looked at her as a budding dear lady who is so smart, so sweet that even my mom cannot say No if she started to request something... of course there are times that she is also a hardheaded girl as always but I know she takes into consideration everything that she is doing and about to do... I know she is taking things step by step and little by little in order to be a Godly woman the Lord wants her to be.... Oh God, please be upon her and let thy will be done into her life...

*** My sister Precious is the one wearing the striped colored shirt.... taking a pose with her colleagues at Arellano University....(",)
