~ Tam-Awan ~

..Indeed a Magnificent Place..

......"A Heaven for an Artist".....

My sister invited me to go to this place called "Tam-awan" which I have no idea what the word means and where it is......

It was on "Rated K" episode where I have seen this place describe as a Home of arts for students during summer. Located in the foot of the mountain where stood the native Ifugao hut that was transformed into a place where Arts flourishes... The place indeed was so cool, so close to nature and called an Artist Haven... I was so excited as ever and really can't say much how I appreciated the place. It's kinda mixture of native and modern arts combined that comes out into a different era of the artistic world today. I am no artist at all yet I know how to appreciate Arts.... from stage plays, paintings, oregami, ikebana , etc...

Let me give you a glimpse of what Tam-awan is...

Tam-awan Village uniquely blends indigenous aesthetics and exquisite Ifugao craftsmanship with an artist's concept for a village adapted the Baguio setting. Right now Tam-awan is under the management of the Chantum Foundation, who began to re-construc Ifugao houses in Baguio with the view of making a village model accessible to people who have not had the chance to travel to the Cordillera interior. Building on a land near an abundant spring., the foundation started out with three knocked-down huts transported from Bangaan, Ifugao. The village now has seven Ifugao huts and two Kalinga houses. Using the original materials and adding only new cogon roofs, traditional artisans reconstructed the houses and laid them out resembling the design of a traditional Cordillera Village.

An Ifugao house is compact and though deceptively simple, its architecture is quite sophisticated. Built by clever mortisans without nails or hardware, it exemplifies the exactness of Ifugao construction. With the exemption of reed and cogon used in the roofs, the entire house uses heavy hand-hewn timber. elevated to about shoulder height by four post usually made of hard wood, the house with periodid re-roofing, can last several generations.

The Kalinga house is a more spacious commode and is made with the same hand-hewn pine wood. The binayon is the traditional octagonal house of Southern Kalinga Province and Tam-awam Village is proud to present one the three remaining such houses in the country today.

In keeping with the spirit in which the village was originally concieved, Tam-awan Village has become a venue for art exhibits and workshops envisioned to foster a deeper understanding, respect and pride in the cultural heritage of the cordillera people.

The village is an experience in intself. By the living in the huts, its guest get an opportunity to immerse in an atmosphere that allow them to get a glimpse of village life.

On a clear day, a magnificent China Sea sunset can be viewed from the village, giving to its name as Tam-awan, that is, vantage point.

~ My Heart Glow for Love ~

When I saw Yani smiled...

 Visit My Mail Stamp!

I was awaken by a dream, a dream that I am wishing to have almost everyday of my life...because through that dream Yani is alive..... through that dream I could talk to him just like he is still there.... alive.....just like before..... It's almost a year now when I dreamed of this dream again but now it is totally different..... everytime I dreamed of him (before) made me cried hard and feeling of loneliness, sadness and pain will choke my heart.... but not until this dream.....

It's like in a movie preview..... a scene flashed and I saw Yani was there asking me for forgiveness.... I'm not angry but feel so pissed off which I really don't know the reason why?.... he was so persistent on asking me to forgive him....then I looked into his eyes and I saw there the sincerity on what he is pleading on me... I feel something inside of me that was awaken by those stares and I told okay....I already forgiven you.... whilch I believed comes from the bottom of my heart.....on the moment I said those words I have seen Yani's face became so bright and so happy..... I Have seen him smiled at me saying "Thank You!"...then a memory came back to me....I almost forgot Yani is with the Lord already... sigh.... I never thought of that all the while that I have an argument with HIm..... I feel the love which I cannot explain beacause it feels like my heart glow for love and I could hear it beating steadily... the difference from my previous dream about Yani is that this makes me feel so free,  so light....... it opened my heart into a different level and that we both received reconcilation from the hurts that I have gone through..... and I never cried .. not a single tear from my eyes fall brought me joy..... exceeding joy... then I saw Yani's face smiling and faded in a distance leaving me behind setting me free.... another deliverance happened again ...I know I am totally healed on what happened in the evening of August 3, 2003... and I thank you Lord for this.... let your name be praised.....
The dream awaken me and made me feel not the cold that usually wakes me up but joy into my heart... I know I'll be going to walk again without carrying anything and any burden inside my heart anymore... which is I am so thankful of. Thank you so much.... thank you so much....
